Meet Larry Deniston, who owns CMIT Solutions of Southwest Michigan and has recently taken over ownership of CMIT Solutions of Grand Rapids as well.

What were you doing before you joined CMIT Solutions?

Before CMIT, I spent 34 years designing, developing, and deploying IT solutions for small businesses and the local government. I started as a software engineer, became a general manager, bought the company and grew it, and then sold it.

How does your background play a role in your CMIT Solutions business?

For most of my career, I’ve been in the business of supplying IT solutions, so it’s in my blood — I’m aware of the needs and limitations that businesses have when it comes to IT expertise. I know how to find, grow and keep customers that stick around for years.

Why did CMIT Solutions appeal to you?

CMIT Solutions is a fantastic franchise model, so what appealed to me right off the bat was that the customer service model was one of long-term relationships — my background and my comfort zone. I’m passionate about computer technology, so the opportunity to take it a step further was a big selling point. Owning a CMIT Solutions allows me to continue in the field and to expand my interests as I see fit. Now that I’ve taken over ownership of CMIT Solutions of Grand Rapids, I have the opportunity to build on its groundwork and keep serving small and medium-sized businesses with long-term relationships in mind.
